Welcome to our Holiday Cottage in the beautiful Wye valley

Enjoying a peaceful setting within a pretty village and close to the Wye Valley Arts Centre, this spacious ground floor, single level, 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom accommodation is pet friendly and simply perfect for small families and friends wanting to explore an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Llandogo is a small village between Monmouth and Tintern, set on the banks of the River Wye, where you can enjoy an abundance of wildlife and river walks with breathtaking scenery.

The neighbouring village of Tintern is just 3 miles south, home to a magnificent 12th-century abbey that dominates the landscape.

Walkers can take advantage of Offa’s Dyke and Wye Valley Trail, whilst cyclists may take on the National Cycle Trail.

The River Wye is popular for kayaking and some of the best fly fishing in the UK. For history buffs, there are a myriad of castles including Chepstow, Caldicot and Raglan, and some of the largest Roman settlements in the UK at Caerwent and Caerleon, all within a 30 mile radius.

One famous visitor to Llandogo, William Wordsworth, once wrote about the cottages on the hills and the wreaths of smoke sent up in silence, from among the trees.

However, in the 18th and 19th century it was known for boatbuilding and the lodge is part of the converted Lion Sawmill which produced small items of furniture from the offcuts of the trees felled for boat building and architectural construction.

The lodge enjoys a peaceful location and is accessed via the gardens to the rear.

Two rustic chairs are situated close to the door where you can take a seat to remove muddy boots or to enjoy a glass of wine in the evening looking out to the Wye Valley. There are cushions in the waterproof box under the kitchen window

Please note: This was once part of the Lion Saw Mill and therefore there are attached neighbours who own other properties in the complex. Most visitors find them to be very friendly, some never see or hear them at all.

The heart of this wonderful cottage is its bright, welcoming kitchen and dining space — a room that instantly makes you want to settle in and stay a while.

The fully equipped kitchen has everything you could possibly need, from a fridge freezer, dishwasher and microwave to a generous supply of crockery, glasses and cookware.

A well-stocked selection of herbs, spices, coffee, tea and sugar means you can get started the moment you arrive.

The spacious breakfast bar is perfect for a relaxed morning coffee, while the adjoining dining area — bathed in natural light — seats the whole group comfortably for evening meals.

Whether you're rustling up a full dinner after a day's walking in the Wye Valley or simply enjoying a quiet breakfast before heading out, this kitchen makes self-catering an absolute pleasure.

Bright, welcoming and full of character, the sitting room is the perfect place to unwind after a day exploring the local area.

Flooded with natural light through its large window, the room is generously furnished with deep, comfortable leather sofas where you can truly relax.

A log effect fire sets the mood on cooler evenings, while the Smart TV and DVD player ensure effortless entertainment. A carefully curated collection of board games adds a wonderfully nostalgic touch — ideal for evenings in with family or friends.

Quirky yet beautiful furniture pieces give the space a distinctive charm, complemented by a collection of original local artwork that celebrates the surrounding area.

The property is fully safety compliant, including an emergency exit, giving you complete peace of mind throughout your stay.
